Yes, if you publish apps as a company. Apple asks for one when a company joins the Apple Developer Program, and it uses your Dun & Bradstreet record to check your company's legal name and address.
Yes. Google Play asks for a DUNS Number to open an organization account, and the name and address must match your payments profile.
Standard can take up to 30 business days at Dun & Bradstreet. Express is usually ready within 8 business days after we submit your application. Once your number is issued, Apple may need up to 2 more business days to receive it, and Express does not change that.
Your company may already have one. We check first, and if it does, we find it and help you ask Dun & Bradstreet to correct any wrong details instead of applying again. You can also search for free on the Dun & Bradstreet website.
Your legal name must match your state records exactly, word for word. Use the same address on your Dun & Bradstreet record, your app store account and your Google payments profile. Use your real business address, not a P.O. box, because it can appear on your public App Store or Google Play page.
Your number is issued to your company's legal name, not to a DBA. Apple also accepts only the legal name for its developer program.
It starts your company's credit file with Dun & Bradstreet. Scores build over time from payments your suppliers report, so no one can promise you a score.
Dun & Bradstreet does not charge for the number itself. Our price covers our work, which includes the existing number check, the application, the follow up and help with any profile fixes. Express includes Dun & Bradstreet's faster review. The DUNS Number is also included free in our Pro package.
